In our home
‘Ananda Nilayam’ is a place for girls to get the necessary care and a safe environment to develop. The group is small enough that we can give each girl enough individual care and attention. Depending on their age they are involved in daily activities to teach them different daily life skills. Beside the focus on education and self-development we know it’s important for children to play and relax. There are plenty of possibilities in and around ‘Ananda Nilayam’ for this.
Education support
Education is one of the pillars for a better future for any child, for a family, and also for a nation. Supporting local schoolchildren with the necessary material or financial support will often make the difference between dropping out of school or continuing in education. In this way we are also able to give many students, mostly girls, a chance for a better future.
Summer camps
During the summer holidays we conduct summer camps for underprivileged children in the surrounding areas. These camps give us an opportunity to reach out to other children. Our purpose is to provide education, entertain them, nourishment, and through them even positively influence their families and neighbourhoods.
Community development
We keep our eyes and ears open to the needs of the people in the community where we live. Wherever we can, we help in practical ways. Sometimes we just need to be a bridge between the community and the government to encourage progress in infrastructural development. We have als provided materials for the supply of drinking water, for a collapsed roof or failing electricity. We aim to serve our community by giving a helping hand where we can.
